Church Re-Opening Effective Friday June 11 Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

As part of Stage 1 of the Province of Ontario Reopening Plan, I am delighted to announce that churches will be permitted 15% capacity for religious services including baptisms, weddings and funerals beginning on Friday June 11. The percentage includes anyone assisting with the service (priest, volunteers, etc.).

Here at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in our earlier re-openings we had already been limited to 15% capacity due to social distancing requirements/ pew arrangement in the church and hall...and so we will simply return to this capacity.

On Friday June 11 (Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, World Day of Prayer for Priests), we will offer two masses: 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (doors open 30 minutes before each mass), Holy Hour to follow the 9:00 a.m. mass. The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Cardinal Collins has recently released a new pastoral letter on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, "Heart Speaks to Heart." This is a significant reflection on one of the most sacred symbols in the Catholic faith and what it can teach us in these difficult times. I encourage you to read it here: www.archtoronto.org/en/offices-and-ministries/sub-sites/sacred-heart/sacred-heart-jesus/

On Saturday June 12 (Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary) mass will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by the praying of the Rosary (doors open at 8:30 a.m., church will close at 10:00 a.m.)

Confessions will continue to be offered each Saturday 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Weekend masses on June 12 and 13 (and each weekend thereafter) will be celebrated according to our regular weekend mass schedule: Saturday 5:00 p.m., Sunday 7:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12 Noon (Church open 30 minutes before each mass). WE WILL NOT BE USING EVENTBRITE TO BOOK THESE MASSES...FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS until we reach capacity in church and hall.

Weekday masses beginning Monday June 14: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m., (and First Saturdays July 3 and August 7 August 9:00 a.m.).... first come, first serve basis with doors open at 8:30 a.m.

While the Parish Offices remain closed, the church will remain open for private prayer Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. until 12 Noon.

Livestream of Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass

For those not comfortable or able to return to mass quite yet we continue to encourage you to view the livestream of our Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass via our parish website: www.st-ignatius-loyola.com.

At communion time we invite you to join in the following prayer:

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Your Financial Support is Appreciated

Thank you once again for your generosity and support of our parish community and ShareLife as we return to church, especially by placing your envelope in the offertory basket before mass or mailing in your donations, or donating via Pre-Authorized Giving (PAG forms available through parish website) or by credit card, or single or monthly donations through the “Donate
now” button at www.archtoronto.org.

Please join us at the end of each mass in praying the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;

And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world

seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
