Ukrainian Crisis Update

Are you able to host a Ukrainian family? When hearing reports of the war in Ukraine, and the millions of Ukrainians that have been forced to flee their homeland, many have asked what they can do to help. Over 200,000 Ukrainians have already arrived in Canada through a special visa program created by Immigration Canada. An additional 800,000 have applied to the program and are expected to arrive in the coming months. Many are arriving to Toronto and are without family here in Canada to help them. Among those will be some who are vulnerable to human trafficking, particularly seniors, single women, and women with children. There is an immediate need for families to host for a period of between one and six months some of those who have arrived. If you would like to learn more about hosting a Ukrainian family, please go to Archdiocese of Toronto - Ukrainian Crisis (archtoronto.org) and register for a virtual information session.

ShareLife 2023

Our parishioners’ support of ShareLife is making a difference in the lives of those in need.  As we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday May 14, all moms deserve to be celebrated and supported. Did you know that our parish’s support of ShareLife is helping young women with an unexpected pregnancy?

One such mother is Nikki, who was able to continue her education and receive practice assistance through an agency called Rose of Sharon. She says, “If it wasn’t for you and for ShareLife, I don’t know where we would be today. We will always and forever be grateful for your support!”

Thus far, we have raised $123,635.00 towards our goal of 230,000. Please give at the parish using a ShareLife envelope, online through our parish website, or at https://sharelife.org/ .

Thank you for supporting ShareLife!

Canada Health Day, May 12

Canada Health Day is celebrated in health care facilities and community services across Canada. This day reminds us that health and healing are essential aspects of our baptismal vocation. We are called to take responsibility for our personal health:  to prevent illness and to seek a healthy lifestyle. Good health concerns the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health of our communities, respect for God’s creatures and the nurturing of the whole earth.
