Father Edward Curtis was born and raised in Toronto and attended St. Clare’s Parish, where he later worked as an organist and choral director. He completed an Arts and Science degree at the University of Toronto, with a focus in English literature and philosophy, before beginning his priestly formation at St. Augustine’s Seminary.
Father Ed was ordained to the Priesthood on May 10, 2008 and was assigned to St. Joseph’s Parish here in Mississauga. After a year, he was appointed as personal secretary and master of ceremonies for Archbishop Thomas Collins. He later spent three years in Rome obtaining a degree in Canon Law at the Pontifical Gregorian University and then returned to Toronto to work with Cardinal Collins once again.
In 2018, he was appointed Rector of St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica and in 2021, he was appointed Chancellor of Spiritual Affairs and Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Toronto. Father Ed continues his work with the Toronto Regional Marriage Tribunal as a judge.
