Mass Intention

Mass Intentions

At St. Ignatius Loyola Church we offer several options for Mass Intentions either for the deceased or for the living/special intention:

Announced Masses (Single Intention or Multiple Mass Intention)

  • Single Intention Masses: Mass can be offered for a deceased person or for a special intention. The name is announced at the beginning of a Mass. This Mass is celebrated Monday to Friday at 9:00 a.m.
  • Multiple Intention Masses: Mass can be offered for a deceased person or for a  special intentions along with other intentions (to a maximum of 20 per multiple intention Mass) and each intention/name is announced at the beginning of the Mass. These Masses are celebrated on the First Friday and every Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Mass intentions are not accepted for our weekend Masses (Saturday 5 p.m. and Sunday morning).

According to Archdiocesan guidelines a donation of $20 for a single Mass intention or $10 for a multiple Mass intention is requested. Single mass intentions are accepted within a 15 month period. Multiple Mass intentions are generally accepted within a 4 month period.

Unannounced Masses (Single intention only)

Mass can be offered for an individual intention or name of the living or deceased person (or two if it is a couple). Since these Masses do not have a scheduled date or time for their celebration they are considered “unannounced”. The Mass may be offered by one of our own parish priests or given to a retired or missionary priest to celebrate.

According to Archdiocesan guidelines a donation of $10 per unannounced Mass is requested.

Requests for Mass intentions must be made in person through the parish office.
