From the Desk of Fr. Tim…

I was delighted with the great numbers who attended our Palm Sunday masses last weekend, and invite you to continue to journey with Christ during Holy Week to experience the Easter Triduum in itsthree parts:

Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:30 p.m.

Good Friday Services 11:00 a.m. (Children’s Celebration), 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
and Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. led by the EDGE Youth Ministry

Easter Vigil on Saturday April 8 at 8:00 p.m. or Easter Sunday Masses at 7:30 a.m.,
9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 12 Noon

We are happy to welcome Bishop Ivan Camilleri, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto for the Western Pastoral Region as celebrant on Holy Thursday, the Good Friday 3:00 p.m. Service and the Easter Vigil this year. Iinvite you to make these three celebrations your priority in Holy Week 2023…details as follows:

Holy Thursday Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Immediately following the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:30 p.m., there will be a formal procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Parish Hall, where a special chapel will be set up so that we may pray and meditate on the last hours of Jesus life and the suffering he endured for our sakes. I thank Fr. Tom Rosica for allowing us to attach his resource material for prayer during Adoration to help us focus our prayer on this holy night. Please join us for an hour or even just a few moments. Adoration concludes at Midnight.

Good Friday - Celebration of the Lord’s Passion
Please join us for our Good Friday services at 11:00 a.m. (Children’s Celebration), 1:00 p.m. or
3:00 p.m. This year, we will be resuming the practice of individual veneration of the cross at the end of each celebration, either directly by kissing the cross, or by touching the cross, or bowing before it as you come up in procession.

You are also invited to join our EDGE Youth Ministry in praying the Stations of the Cross beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Flowers for Easter - Holy Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Thank you for remembering your loved ones at Easter through the bringing of potted flowers of any description to the church on Holy Saturday morning, where they will be placed in our sanctuary for the Easter celebrations.

Blessing of the Easter Food - Holy Saturday 11:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall
In the Eastern European tradition, it is customary that the special foods used at Easter Breakfast be brought to the church on Holy Saturday to be blessed by the priest. These foods are specially selected to symbolize various aspects of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. All are welcome!

Easter Vigil
Beginning in the darkness at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday April 8, this beautiful Liturgy of Light, of the Word
of God, of Sacramental Initiation (with three adults to be baptized and one adult to be received into
the church, and all to be receive the Sacrament of Confirmation) and of the Eucharist is the highlight of
our liturgical year in celebration of the Resurrection! Please join us!

Easter Sunday
As we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection, we also renew our own baptismal promises during these special
Easter masses…all are welcome!
