From the Desk of Fr. Tim…
Please Pray for the Archdiocese of Toronto’s Newest Priests!
On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Archbishop Francis Leo ordained seven transitional deacons with the Sacrament of Holy Orders as priests who will serve in the Archdiocese of Toronto.
As a faith community, we invite you to pray for all those who continue to serve and, in a special way, our newly ordained priests: Rev. Sávio Bruto da Costa, Rev. Sean Jacob, Rev. Mirko Ljuba, Rev. Carlos Marquez, Rev. Cole Powers, Rev. John Wang and Rev. Matthew Wang.
Let us also pray for those who are currently in formation to the priesthood at St. Augustine’s Seminary and at the Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary.
We give thanks to God for all those who have answered the call to serve the Church through a vocation to the priesthood, diaconate, or religious life.

ShareLife 2023: ShareLife-funded agencies turn no one away!
Did you know that no one is turned away from ShareLife-funded agencies due to inability to pay? This is all thanks to your generosity to our annual appeal. It is through your support that ShareLife agencies can help the most vulnerable in our community and around the world.
ShareLife currently supports over 40 agencies across the archdiocese. While the pandemic put a strain on the services of the agencies, they continued to support the ones who need it the most. This was made possible through your kind and generous donations.
Without your support, the more than 150,000 people who are helped each year would not receive the hope offered through the important work of these agencies
Thus far we have raised $140,000 toward our goal of 230,000. Please give at the parish using a ShareLife envelope, online through our parish website, or at sharelife.org/donate https://sharelife.org/ . Thank you for supporting ShareLife!

The Pope’s Pastoral Works, May 20/21
This collection provides an opportunity for Catholics to make a financial offering to assist the Holy Father. One-third of the funds collected is for what is traditionally know as Peter’s Pence: donations used by the Pope for his charitable contributions to those most in need throughout the world, as well as for the support of the Holy See and its activities. Two-thirds of the collection support Pope Francis in administering the Holy See and serving the Universal Church (Canon 1271). Information about how Peter’s Pence is used, as well as donations in response to Canon 1271, is available in the Holy See’s yearly financial report.
World Communications Day, May 21
Today Catholics are invited to reflect upon the media of social communication (films, radio, TV, newspapers, audiovisuals) and how these influence our lives.
The medica can promote values that lead to a more fully human society. The Church’s ministry is twofold. The media can be used to help promote the Gospel. At the same time, as receivers of the material presented by the media, the faithful have a duty to support and promote worthwhile presentations on medica and reject those which promote values contrary to spiritual growth.
World Day of Prayer for the Church in China
In May 2007, Pope Benedict XVI asked that May 24 be observed as a Day for Prayer of the Church in China. He chose this day since it is the traditional Feast of Our Lady of Help of Christians, venerated at the Shrine of Sheshan in Shanghai.
Ukrainian Crisis Update Are you able to host a Ukrainian family?
When hearing reports of the war in Ukraine, and the millions of Ukrainians that have been forced to flee their homeland, many have asked what they can do to help. Over 200,000 Ukrainians have already arrived in Canada through a special visa program created by Immigration Canada. An additional 800,000 have applied to the program and are expected to arrive in the coming months. Many are arriving to Toronto and are without family here in Canada to help them. Among those will be some who are vulnerable to human trafficking, particularly seniors, single women, and women with children. There is an immediate need for families to host for a period of between one and six months some of those who have arrived. If you would like to learn more about hosting a Ukrainian family, please go to Archdiocese of Toronto - Ukrainian Crisis (archtoronto.org) and register for a virtual information session.
