Church and Foyer Flooring Replacement/Sanctuary Renovation Project Update

Unfortunately, we are presently one week behind schedule on the project, and as a result we will not return to the church for weekend masses until September 16/17, and for weekday masses beginning on Monday September 18.

In the meantime, Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday masses continue to be celebrated across the parking lot in the cafetorium of the St. Kateri Centre until after Labour Day weekend. Weekday masses Monday to Friday at 9:00 a.m. continue to be celebrated in the parish hall until Friday September 15.

Confessions are heard each Saturday between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the church sacristy, or anytime else by appointment.

Please note that our regular parish office hours will resume this week being open on Tuesday through Friday, and on Sundays after each mass.

Thank you for your continued co-operation during this time of construction and disruption!

Saturday 9:00 a.m. Mass and Rosary

Please join us Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for mass followed by the Rosary beginning again on Saturday, September 2… All are welcome!

Calling all Volunteers!

As part of the preparation work for returning to mass in the church, we need to attach rubber bumpers to the bottom of each kneeler.

We plan to do this on Saturday September 9 and Saturday September 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m. for 1 – 2 hours. If you are handy and have a cordless power drill with a #6 round drill bit and can help even for a short time, please email Caroline Borcsok, cborcsok@archtoronto.org .

Welcome Maria Ferrin!

We are happy to announce that parishioner Maria Ferrin has joined our parish staff as part-time Secretary/Receptionist. She is a Minister of the Eucharist at the Sunday Noon mass and a member of the Floral Committee. She will assist our parish secretary Olga Calderon and has also been filling in for her during the summer break. Welcome Maria!

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Begins in September!

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) for those who would like to become Roman Catholic, will begin in September. If you or a loved one would like to consider becoming a Roman Catholic, please speak to Fr. Alex or Fr. Tim after mass or contact us by e-mail or phone.

Solemnity of St. Michael and Conferral of the Pallium Upon Archbishop Francis Leo

The Archdiocese of Toronto celebrates the feast day of our archdiocesan patron, St. Michael, on Friday, September 29, 2023. All are welcome to join in a special celebration on that day at 5:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica (65 Bond St.). Archbishop Francis Leo will celebrate Mass, with music from the world-renowned St. Michael’s Choir School. As part of the celebration, the Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, the Most Rev. Ivan Jurkovič will confer the pallium on our archbishop, a symbol of his role as Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto and shepherd to the faithful.

There will be an informal reception with light refreshments in the St. Michael’s Cathedral atrium and courtyard following the Mass. Seating will be first come, first served. All are welcome to join in this special celebration for our archdiocese and archbishop!

UTM Catholic Chaplaincy Update

The UTM (University of Toronto Mississauga) Catholic Chaplaincy exists to provide a supportive community for students to learn, grow, and celebrate their Catholic faith. While many schools continue to offer online learning for this Fall Term, the increased isolation creates a deep need for authentic community.

Whether you are at UTM student or a student studying remotely at another university or college, we invite you join our community. Our chaplaincy is working hard this fall to plan safe in-person gatherings as well as virtual gatherings for those wishing to connect remotely. For more information visit our website www.utmcatholics.com .

Volunteer Needed for Right to Life

St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish is looking for a new pro-life contact that may act as a liaison between Right to Life Mississauga & Area, the pastor, and our church community. As a liaison, one of the responsibilities includes coordinating Life Chain at our parish and promoting 40 Days for Life. If you are interested, please email righttolifemb@gmail.com or leave your name and contact information in the parish office.

Are you ticked? Support Catholic Education
