Parish Evening of Reflection: The Resurrection Stories of the Gospels
Wednesday May 25 at 7:00 pm. in the church (also Livestreamed)

We welcome Fr. Thomas Rosica CSB back to our parish community as our homilist this weekend and again later in this Easter Season when he will lead us in a meditative reflection on the Resurrection Stories of the four Gospels. Fr. Tom is a scripture scholar and teacher and long-time friend of our parish community.

Although we are not able to hold our traditional dinner as part of the evening, we look forward to having you join us on Wednesday May 25 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Rosica's presentation will include time for personal and group reflection on these important stories of our Catholic faith.

No tickets are required – bring a friend and just come in person or watch via livestream: https://stignatiusloyolami.archtoronto.org .

ShareLife and the World Day of Prayer for Vocations

When you support ShareLife, you help educate our future priests. Through ShareLife, you invested in our Church’s future by supporting 60 seminarians at St. Augustine’s Seminary and Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary in this past academic year.

Cardinal Collins is asking each of us to contribute what we can. He says:

“Our goal can be met, but only with your help. I invite you to join today's generation of heroes by making a sacrificial gift to ShareLife. As you contemplate the blessings God has entrusted to you, please join me in giving to ShareLife to the best of your ability.”

Thus far we have raised $94,871.60 toward our goal of $255,000. Thank you for “living the Gospel” through our parish ShareLife campaign. If you have not contributed to date, please consider doing so through the collection basket or at https://sharelife.org/ .

Election Debate from a Catholic Perspective

On Wednesday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Archdiocese of Toronto will host an election debate where representatives from the major political parties will discuss issues that matter to Catholics across Ontario. The debate will be livestreamed on the Archdiocese of Toronto’s YouTube and Facebook accounts (@archtoronto), and it will be broadcasted on Salt+Light TV.

This evening will include Cardinal Collins sharing his thoughts on the election. More than 12,000 people viewed the archdiocese’s 2019 federal election debate, so we hope you will join many other Catholics in sharing your thoughts using the hashtag #CatholicVote2022. Please remember to vote in the provincial election on June 2.

The Archdiocese of Toronto has produced several resources that provide background on election issues through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching. You can find them here: https://www.archtoronto.org/election .

Confirmation 2022

Confirmations will be celebrated on Tuesday June 14 and Wednesday June 15 at 7:00 p.m. and students have already registered.

The mandatory rehearsal (for one Confirmation parent as well as the candidate) will take place on either Tuesday June 7 at 7:00 p.m. or Wednesday June 8 at 7:00 p.m. The church will open at 6:45 p.m. each evening and you do not need to book a specific rehearsal date. Attendance will, however, be taken and students will not be able to celebrate Confirmation if they do not attend one of the rehearsals with a parent.

The Confirmation celebrations will also be livestreamed via our parish website so that family members and friends can attend virtually: https://stignatiusloyolami.archtoronto.org/ . Let us keep our Confirmation candidates in our prayers in these weeks leading up to their reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
