Parish News/Events

Welcome Father Prince Robert Michael!

We are delighted to welcome Father Prince Robert Michael to St Ignatius Loyola Parish, where he will be serving as Associate Pastor.

Fr Prince comes to us from the Diocese of Sultanpet in Kerala, India, and was ordained to the priesthood on 1 May 2011 in the Diocese of Coimbatore. Over the past decade, he has served the Church with great dedication and pastoral care — as an Associate Pastor in three parishes, Pastor in two and as director of the Social Action Commission, where he was deeply involved in outreach and community development.

He brings with him a strong academic and pastoral background, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work and Psychology, in addition to his seminary formation in philosophy and theology. His studies and ministerial experience reflect a deep commitment to both the spiritual and human needs of the people he serves.

Fr Prince arrived in Canada in June 2024, where he first assisted at St Clare Parish and most recently served the community at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Toronto. Now, he begins a new chapter with us here in Mississauga, and we are grateful for his presence, faith and pastoral gifts.

Fr Prince’s mother passed away in 2019, and his father, two sisters, a nephew and a niece continue to reside in India. While he is far from home, we hope he will find in St Ignatius a warm and welcoming parish family.

Please join us in extending a heartfelt welcome to Fr Prince Robert Michael as he begins his ministry among us!

Fr. Prince Robert Michael’s Meet & Greet:

Following the 9 AM Mass on Friday June 27, 2025, you are invited to join us in the Parish Hall for some coffee & tea, and to meet our new Associate Pastor, Fr. Prince Robert Michael. We hope to see you there!

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Needs Your Help

We support 137 school age children who will be returning to school this September.  They will need school supplies, clothing, etc.  Your donation or  a $25 Walmart gift card would be a “hand up” and really put a smile on a child’s face.

Help us to help them get a fresh start!  Please use the designated envelope and place in the weekend collection basket or in the SSVP donation box, prior to August 1, 2025.  Donations over $20 are eligible for a SSVP tax receipt.

Thank You!

Thank you for bringing empathy to the table

Covenant House, an agency you support through ShareLife, fosters a profound sense of belonging among at-risk children in the Youth in Transition program. Their community dinners create a welcoming space for shared experiences, made possible by your empathetic heart. “These gatherings are an opportunity for youth to learn more about each other and taste food from different cultures,” says Fred Shayo-Mushi, Support Services Manager of Covenant House Toronto. “The dinners make everyone feel like they matter because of your love.”

We invite you to consider contributing towards our ShareLife Parish Goal of $274,500.00. Please give at the parish using a ShareLife envelope, online through our parish website, or at sharelife.org/donate.

Jubilee 2025: Monthly Update

In this month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and as Pilgrims of Hope during the Jubilee Holy Year we recall the words of Pope Francis, “Hope is born of love and based on the love springing from the pierced heart of Jesus upon the cross” (Spes non Confundit, 3). Let us pray that we may all grow in Christ's love, and in a special way let us pray for our Bishops and Priests as the Jubilee Day for Bishops (Wednesday June 25) and Priests (Friday June 27 - Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests) are celebrated in Rome this month.

We also invite parishes, families and individuals to join His Eminence Cardinal Leo and the Auxiliary Bishops in our Archdiocesan Jubilee Pilgrimage to the Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland on Sunday August 24, 2025.

Further information (and registration) will follow in the weeks to come. Please mark the date on your calendar and plan to attend as we also celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the first Mass in Huronia and the 100th Anniversary of the Martyrs’ Shrine!

Happy Corpus Christi!
