From the Pastor's Desk

Dear Friends,

What a grace it has been to journey together through Holy Week. From Holy Thursday to the solemn beauty of Good Friday and now the radiant joy of Easter, we have walked with the Lord through His Passion and into His Resurrection. I hope that these sacred days have enriched your lives and drawn you more deeply into the mystery of God’s love.

At our Easter Vigil, we were blessed to welcome several new members into the Church through Baptism and full initiation. Their joyful “yes” to Christ is a beautiful witness to the new life that Easter proclaims, and a reminder that the Lord continues to call hearts to Himself in every generation. We also see signs of that new life in our parish as a whole, with growing Mass attendance and a renewed vitality in our community. This is a grace we do not take for granted, and one we are called to nurture together.

Today, we celebrate not simply an event of the past, but a living reality: Christ is risen! and His life is at work among us. Easter is a season of new life and hope renewed, hearts restored and beginnings made possible again. No darkness or suffering has the final word. No burden is beyond Jesus' power to lift.

This season also invites us to look outward. Many people around us are searching, sometimes quietly, sometimes without even knowing it, for meaning, for hope, for a place to belong. If someone comes to mind, don’t be afraid to invite them. A simple word, a gentle invitation to return to church or to come for the first time, can open a door.

I truly believe that St. Ignatius Parish is a welcoming and hospitable place, where people can feel at home and encounter the presence of Christ in a real and meaningful way. Each of you helps to make that possible through your kindness, your faith and your presence. And for that, I am profoundly grateful.

May the joy of the Risen Lord fill your hearts and remain with you throughout this Easter season.

With every blessing,

Father Ed

Free Bible Study: The Gospel of Matthew

St. Matthew’s Gospel is considered the most influential and popular book among the early Christian community. St. Matthew clearly makes the case for how the long-awaited hopes of the Jewish people are being fulfilled in Jesus.

  • How the Gospel of Matthew clearly makes Jesus out to be a new and greater Moses, David, Solomon, and Isaac
  • The shocking paradoxes of the Sermon on the Mount and the implications of them for our spiritual life
  • Aspects of Jesus’ infancy, public ministry, and last days in Jerusalem that show him to be the long-awaited fulfillment of what the priests, prophets, and kings of old hoped for

We invite you to this free four-part Bible Study in our Parish Hall, happening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following Thursdays: April 9th, April 16th, April 23rd, May 7th

Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP)

Society of Saint Vincent de Paul continues to help over 110 families coping with food insecurities within our parish boundaries. It is only through your generous financial assistance that we can continue to do this. We thank you for your continued support and remind you of the Poor Boxes located in the front and hall foyers. You may also donate online through our SSVP affiliated weblink: http://Canadahelps.org/en/dn/53987
