From the Pastor's Desk

Welcome Back to Parish Life!

As we step into the fall season, it is wonderful to see parish life at St. Ignatius Loyola coming alive again after the calm of summer. While many of you continued to join us at Mass or travelled during the past months, it is always a joy to gather back together in full strength as a community of faith.

We extend a warm welcome back to all our students and teachers at St. Ignatius Loyola, All Saints, St. Clare’s, and St. Mark’s schools, as well as our students at the University of Toronto Mississauga Catholic Chaplaincy. We also welcome back our Youth Choir at the 10:30 a.m. Mass and our Adult Choir at the Noon Mass—both of which are open to new members. If you would like to join, please speak with one of the musicians after Mass.

Our RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is also beginning soon. If you or someone you know is considering becoming Catholic, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Fr Ed or Fr Prince for a conversation.

Summer was not idle at our parish:

  • We held our first Totus Tuus summer camp, which was a great success for our young people.
  • New hymnals were placed in the pews.
  • Kneelers throughout the church were replaced. It hardly feels penitential to kneel anymore!
  • Our parish hall received a facelift: fresh paint, new ceiling tiles in some places, and a newly stripped and waxed floor.
  • Even our storage areas were reorganized to better serve the many ministries of our parish.

Looking ahead, we are excited for:

  • A new parish photo directory.
  • A new outdoor shrine to Our Lady.
  • An indoor space dedicated to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

Please keep an eye on our parish bulletin—both the printed and emailed versions—for more details. If you are not yet on our email list, kindly contact the parish office to be added.

May the Lord continue to bless each one of you and your families. It is my honour to serve you here at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish.

Join us for Youth Choir Tryouts every Wednesday in September beginning September 10th at 7:00 PM — a fun and welcoming one-hour session where we’ll sing together, learn some vocal techniques, and enjoy cookies afterward! No experience needed — just prepare the beginning of "O Canada" to sing.

Thinking About Becoming Catholic?

Have you ever thought about becoming Catholic? Maybe you were married in the Church or raised your children in the faith but never became Catholic yourself. Or perhaps you've had lingering questions about the Church that you’ve never had the chance to explore.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which adults are welcomed into the Catholic Church. It's a journey of prayer, learning, and community for anyone who is unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of the faith.

RCIA meets on Wednesday evenings beginning this fall. Each session offers the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and grow in faith.

If you’re feeling called or even just curious, please speak with Fr. Ed Curtis or Fr. Prince Michael for more information.

Children’s Liturgy

We are excited to be starting back Children’s Liturgy at our 10:30 a.m. and 12 Noon Sunday Masses beginning Sunday September 7, 2025. Keep an ear out for announcements!
