Donations Required and Welcomed for our Refugee Family!

Our refugee family of four will be arriving on September 30 and we are excited to warmly welcome them to Canada and into the residence which has been secured for them. We need to work quickly to furnish it and so we are calling on the well-known generosity of our parish community to assist us in doing so.

We need gently used furniture, as follows:

Bedroom 1: two twin beds, mattresses, night stand (16” W max), tall dresser (32” W max).

Bedroom 2: double bed, mattress, dresser (42” W max)

Kitchen: table (40” W x 60” L max) with 4 chairs.

Bathroom: shelving unit fitting above toilet 24” x 36” max.

  2. Room, if applicable ie: bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room
  3. Photo of each item
  4. Condition of item: eg: gently used, new
  5. If donating furniture, measurements (L x W x H)

Additionally, please provide your name and phone # and if donating furniture that requires pick up, your address.

Once your email is received, a member of our Refugee Committee will be in touch either by phone or email to provide more details.

We will ask that smaller, portable items be dropped off at the parish hall after any Mass on September 27/28. Arrangements will be made to pick up furniture and large items from donor locations on Sunday, September 28.

One more request: we need 4 small ramps to be built to accommodate wheelchair access. If you have the skills and wood to build them, please let us know and a committee member will be in touch with more details.

Thank you!!
