Mass Intention

Mass Intentions

At St. Ignatius Loyola Church we offer several options for Mass Intentions either for the deceased or for the living or for a special intention you may have as follows:

Announced Masses (Single intention or Multiple Mass Intention)

  • Single Intention Masses: Mass can be offered for an individual intention or name of the living or deceased person (or two if it is a couple) and the individual intention/name is announced at the beginning of the mass. These masses are celebrated Monday to Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
  • Multiple Intention Masses: Mass can be offered for an individual intention or a living or deceased person (or two if a couple) along with other intentions (to a maximum of 20 per multiple intention mass) and each intention/name is announced at the beginning of the mass. These masses are celebrated on the First Friday and First Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Mass intentions are not accepted for our weekend masses (Saturday 5 p.m. and Sunday morning).

According to Archdiocesan guidelines a donation of $20 for a single mass intention or $10 for a multiple mass intention is requested. Single mass intentions are accepted within a 15 month period. Multiple mass intentions are generally accepted within a 4 month period.

Unannounced Masses (Single intention only)

Mass can be offered for an individual intention or name of the living or deceased person (or two if it is a couple). Since these masses do not have a scheduled date or time for their celebration they are considered “unannounced”. The mass may be offered by one of our own parish priests or given to a retired or missionary priest to celebrate.

According to Archdiocesan guidelines a donation of $10 per unannounced mass is requested.

Requests for mass intentions must be made in person through the parish office.
