From the Pastor's Desk

Dear Friends,

As we celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter, also known as Divine Mercy Sunday, we are reminded that the Risen Lord comes to us not with condemnation but with mercy. He stands among His disciples, wounds still visible, and speaks those words we so deeply need to hear: “Peace be with you.” This day invites us to trust more deeply in that mercy, to receive it and to extend it to others.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who helped make our Holy Week and Easter liturgies so prayerful, beautiful and worthy of these sacred days. So much happens behind the scenes, and it does not go unnoticed.

Thank you to our hospitality ministers, who welcomed all with warmth and kindness, setting the tone for every celebration. To our lectors, who proclaimed the Word of God with clarity and reverence. To our extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, who assisted in feeding the faithful with such care. To our Altar Floral Group, whose arrangements added a visible beauty that lifted our hearts. To our Altar Guild, for their quiet and faithful preparation of all that is needed for the sacred liturgies. And to our altar servers, whose service at the altar reflects both dedication and devotion.

A special word of thanks as well to our Youth Choir under the direction of Claudia and our Adult Choir under the direction of Ana Maria, along with all of our musicians and cantors. Your gift of music truly elevated our celebrations and helped all of us to pray more deeply. Our liturgies were made all the more beautiful because of your talent and generosity.

I also wish to say, on behalf of Fr. Prince and our entire parish staff, a sincere word of thanks to all of you, our parishioners. Thank you for choosing to celebrate these sacred mysteries here at St. Ignatius. Your faith, your presence and your participation are what make our parish so vibrant and such a beautiful place to worship the Lord. It is a joy to be your pastor and to share in this life of faith together.

Together, all of you helped our parish enter more fully into the mystery of the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. Thank you for giving of your time, your gifts and your hearts.

 With gratitude and every blessing,

Father Ed

Free Bible Study: The Gospel of Matthew

St. Matthew’s Gospel is considered the most influential and popular book among the early Christian community. St. Matthew clearly makes the case for how the long-awaited hopes of the Jewish people are being fulfilled in Jesus.

  • How the Gospel of Matthew clearly makes Jesus out to be a new and greater Moses, David, Solomon, and Isaac
  • The shocking paradoxes of the Sermon on the Mount and the implications of them for our spiritual life
  • Aspects of Jesus’ infancy, public ministry, and last days in Jerusalem that show him to be the long-awaited fulfillment of what the priests, prophets, and kings of old hoped for

We have begun this free Bible Study in our Parish Hall, and invite you to join us for the next three sessions happening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 16th, April 23rd, and May 7thWe hope to see you there!
