Pilgrimage to Martyrs’ Shrine
Thank you to all those who joined us for our Parish Pilgrimage to Martyrs’ Shrine on the Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola (Thursday July 31, 2025). It was a beautiful day filled with prayer, fellowship, laughter, and good memories.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul gives special thanks to you for the incredible support of our FIRST ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL INITIATIVE!! Your donations totalled an amazing $7,213!! Each of the 119 school age children our Parish supports were very thankful and excited to receive a $60.00 Walmart gift card for their back to school needs! This far exceeded our initial goal, and will help to give these children a great start to their year. In addition, we received a wonderful donation from BIC - pens, pencils, and highlighters!! Each child received a “goodie bag” with a personal supply of each of these items. Many thanks to BIC for this surprise which delighted the families.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is blessed to have your continued support as we help those in need. Our success is your success. Your kindness is greatly appreciated!

2 more weekends left to register! In order to give us enough time to order books for this bible study, registration will close on Sunday August 24th.
Details: In The Bible and the Church Fathers, you’ll learn who the Early Church Fathers were and how they shaped the way we read Scripture. Learn the four classic criteria needed to earn the title, “Father of the Church” and how the Church Fathers provide a link back to the teachings of Christ and are vital witnesses to Tradition.
Congregation Mass Setting Workshop, Wednesday, September 17 | 7:30–8:15 PM
All are warmly invited to join us for a special evening of music and fellowship, on Wednesday September 17th from 7:30 PM - 8:15 PM in the Church, as we come together to learn the new Mass setting, Mass of Restoration by Josh Blakesley. Led by Claudia Ferro, along with our dedicated choir and musicians, this learning workshop offers a beautiful opportunity to unite our voices in worship and prepare our hearts for our Masses.
Let us create a meaningful musical moment together as one community. Light refreshments will be served following the workshop. We hope to see you there!
Thinking About Becoming Catholic?
Maybe as a non-Catholic you married in the Church and put your kids through Catholic school but never became Catholic yourself. Perhaps it’s time to join the family.
Or maybe you’ve had questions or concerns about the Catholic Church that were never sufficiently answered for you and that’s the thing holding you back. Bring those questions and let’s see if we can work through them together.
Here at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, we welcome new Catholics into the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). We meet on Wednesday evenings and it’s always an enlightening experience for those involved.
Consider it. Open your hearts to where the Lord is calling you. If you are interested, please speak to Fr Ed Curtis or Fr Prince Michael.
Help Send Matthew to the Mission Field
Many of you will remember Matthew Tadgell, who spoke at our parish earlier this summer. Matthew grew up just around the corner from Loyola, and in a few weeks he will begin serving full-time as a missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) at the University of Winnipeg — sharing the Gospel with students and helping bring them into a deeper relationship with Jesus.
Thanks to the generosity of Loyola parishioners, Matthew is close to reaching his fundraising goal. Some parishioners mentioned wanting to help but may not have followed up with him — now is the time! He is coming up to his deadline and still needs $600 in monthly support (or the annual equivalent) to get on campus and start his work.
Matthew’s own faith journey began through CCO, and he knows firsthand the life-changing impact this ministry can have. Please consider prayerfully supporting him so that more students can encounter Christ.

🎶 Youth Choir & Cookie Time! 🍪
Calling all young singers ages 12–25 (or a bit beyond)! Have you ever wanted to pray through song but felt too nervous to join a choir? Now’s your chance!
Join us for Youth Choir Tryouts every Wednesday in September beginning September 10th at 7:00 PM — a fun and welcoming one-hour session where we’ll sing together, learn some vocal techniques, and enjoy cookies afterward! No experience needed — just prepare the beginning of "O Canada" to sing.
We sing at the 10:30 AM Mass and practice Wednesday nights from 7–8 PM. It’s a great way to share your voice, grow in faith, and build fellowship. Plus, volunteer hours are available!
Questions? Talk to Claudia Ferro. Sign up in the office to be added to our email list for more details.
Come give it a try — one hour, one song, one sweet treat!
Auditions for the 12 Noon Choir
Adult Choir Director, Ana Maria Nunes will be hosting auditions for our 12 Noon Choir. Auditions will take place on two Tuesdays:
Whether you're looking for a meaningful way to participate in parish life or simply love to sing, we'd love to hear you!
Special Collection: Canadian Missions
Join us in supporting Canadian Missions this weekend (August 16 - 17, 2025). Catholic Missions in Canada and the selected dioceses in Northern Canada will benefit from your generosity to sustain and extend the Catholic faith to isolated, poor and hard-to-reach mission areas in our country. Envelopes for Canadian Mission donations are available in the front and back foyers of our Parish.
Thank you for your support of this important work!
Final Push for ShareLife – Every Dollar Doubled!
As we approach the close of our ShareLife campaign, we are so grateful for your generosity and commitment to caring for those in need. ShareLife supports over 40 vital agencies across our Archdiocese, providing food for the hungry, counselling for families in crisis, support for refugees, care for vulnerable seniors, and much more. Through your gift, you are helping transform lives — bringing hope, dignity, and compassion to countless people.
This year, we have been blessed with an extraordinary opportunity: a generous parishioner has offered to match every new donation to ShareLife, up to $25,000! That means if you give $100, it becomes $200. If you give $500, it becomes $1,000 — instantly doubling the impact of your gift!
If you’ve been considering a donation, now is the perfect time. Your gift will go twice as far in helping those who rely on ShareLife’s network of care and support.
Let’s finish this campaign strong and make a real difference together. Please use the envelopes at the entrances of the parish, donate online, or drop your contribution at the parish office.
Thank you for helping us live the Gospel through loving service — and for making this final push our strongest yet.
