From the Pastor's Desk
Dear Parishioners,
Thank you for the many kindnesses you have shown me following the sudden death of my sister, Lisa, on August 30. Your prayers, Mass cards, notes, emails and words of comfort have been a real grace. I have felt very carried by our parish family in these days. Please continue to keep Lisa and my family in your prayers.

Celebrating the Dedication of Our Parish Church
On Saturday, September 27th at 9:00 a.m., we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Dedication of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish Church. This is a feast day unique to our parish, marking the day when our church building was consecrated as a holy dwelling place of God.
At this Mass, we will recall the anointing of the walls and altar, symbolized by the dedication candles that surround our church. More importantly, we will rejoice that we ourselves are the living temple of God, called to reflect His glory in our community.
This celebration is also a moment to give thanks for the countless sacraments, prayers, and works of charity that have flowed from this parish — from baptisms and weddings to the outreach of our St. Vincent de Paul Society and our support of ShareLife. Truly, salvation has come to this house, and from here it reaches out to many others.
Please join us for this beautiful celebration. Let us come together as one parish family, giving thanks for the gift of our church and renewing our mission to be a sign of Christ’s presence here in our community in Mississauga.
Refugee Committee Update
We are happy to be sharing good news with you! Our refugee family of four (father, mother and two young children) has been approved for emigration and is expected to arrive in the next several weeks. We are actively working to secure housing for them and will be calling upon the parish community once again for new or gently-used furnishings, household items, clothing and footwear. Details regarding the donation process will be outlined in an upcoming bulletin and on the parish website. Please wait for those details to be made available as specific furniture, small appliances, and clothing sizes will be identified. Thank you for your ongoing interest in and support of our refugee family.

Sanctity of Life, Sat October 4, 2025
9:45 AM (following 9 AM Daily Mass & Rosary)
As Catholics, we know that every human life is sacred, created in the image and likeness of God. But how do we respond when others challenge that belief?
What does science actually say about when life begins? How can we respond with truth and compassion to arguments in favor of abortion?
How do we form our conscience and speak with clarity in today’s world?
In preparation for the upcoming Life Chain, our parish will host Sanctity of Life Morning Reflection in the Parish Hall following Saturday 9 AM Mass and Rosary.
This free event offers an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the Church’s teaching on the dignity of human life—and to discover how these truths are supported not only by faith, but also by reason, science, and human experience. Through prayer, thoughtful discussion, and impactful video presentations, we will reflect on how to respond with clarity and compassion in a world that often questions the value of life.
Inspired by Faith. Moved to Action.
One parish family turned a simple idea into a powerful act of charity. Nathan and Charlotte organized a garage sale complete with cookies from grandma, handmade signs, and homemade lemonade — raising funds for ShareLife.
Adding to the blessing, a fellow parishioner offered to match their donation, doubling the difference they made.
Let their example remind us: every gift counts. Donate today online at sharelife.org/donate, through the parish office, or using the ShareLife envelopes in the foyer.
Thank you to the Scannell family for your beautiful witness of generosity and faith in action!
Stand in Silent Witness, October 5th
Following the 12:00 Noon Mass on Sunday, October 5th, all are invited to gather outside the parish to take part in this year’s Life Chain: a peaceful, prayerful public witness to the sacredness of every human life.
Volunteers will be present to distribute signs with messages of compassion, truth, and hope. Join us in this holy act of solidarity, standing side by side in prayer for mothers, fathers, families, and especially for the lives of the unborn.
Whether or not you’re able to join us in person, we invite everyone to unite in prayer for the souls of these precious children and for a renewed reverence for life in our world.
Student Monitor Needed
