On August 22, ShareLife marked its 50th anniversary with a special Anniversary Mass celebrated by His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, with over 800 people in attendance. The Mass was concelebrated by His Excellencies Bishop Ivan Camilleri and Bishop Robert Kasun, along with priests from across the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Following the Mass, guests gathered in the Cathedral courtyard for refreshments, pizza and ice cream. It was a joyful opportunity for members of the ShareLife community to come together, reconnect and celebrate 50 years of faith in action.

ShareLife’s story began on March 19, 1976, when Archbishop Philip Pocock made a courageous declaration rooted in faith, compassion and a commitment to uphold Catholic values and the dignity of human life at every stage. His vision would shape ShareLife’s mission: to live the Gospel by providing for those in need. Today, ShareLife funds more than 40 agencies that support and care for those on the margins in our communities and around the world.

ShareLife will continue celebrating its 50th anniversary in the coming months, including a special Open House on October 3 at St. Augustine’s Seminary. More details about the event will follow and can be found at sharelife.org/50.
