Fr. Ed Curtis

Father Edward Curtis

Last weekend I announced that I have been appointed as the new pastor of St. Clement Parish in Etobicoke by Archbishop Leo effective June 26, 2024. While I will be sad to leave this vibrant and active parish after 11 years as your pastor, I am happy to announce that your new pastor will be Fr. Edward Curtis, and that Fr. Alex D’Silva will be remaining as his associate pastor.

Father Edward Curtis was born and raised in Toronto and attended St. Clare’s Parish, where he later worked as an organist and choral director. He completed an Arts and Science degree at the University of Toronto, with a focus in English literature and philosophy, before beginning his priestly formation at St. Augustine’s Seminary. Father Ed was ordained to the Priesthood on May 10, 2008 and was assigned to St. Joseph’s Parish here in Mississauga. After a year, he was appointed as personal secretary and master of ceremonies for Archbishop Thomas Collins. He later spent three years in Rome obtaining a degree in Canon Law at the Pontifical Gregorian University and then returned to Toronto to work with Cardinal Collins once again. In 2018, he was appointed Rector of St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica and in 2021, he was appointed Chancellor of Spiritual Affairs and Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Toronto. Father Ed continues his work with the Toronto Regional Marriage Tribunal as a judge. He is delighted to receive this appointment as Pastor of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish and is very much looking forward to meeting all of you in the coming weeks. Please keep Father Ed in your prayers during this period of transition and know that he is praying for all of you and your families already.
