Church and Foyer Flooring Replacement and Sanctuary Renovation Project Update

We have now completed our concrete work in the sanctuary, with the new floor level area on the left side of the sanctuary (to be the site of the Mary statue and Baptismal font), and the new sanctuary level area on the right side of the sanctuary (to be the site of the Tabernacle).  The tiling of the church has now begun with the pew section closest to the parking lot area.

We will continue to offer Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. mass in the parish hall throughout the project.  After this weekend July 15/16, we will enter the second stage of our renovation project, as follows:

Stage II - Starting Monday July 17 until Friday September 1, the church will be completely closed. You may access the parish office through the front doors.  All weekend masses will move across the parking lot to the cafetorium at Kateri Centre (where we gathered for mass from 1982-1987 before the construction of the church).

Please note that during this stage we will unfortunately not be able to offer the livestreaming of our Sunday 9:00 a.m. mass…we hope to return to the livestreaming on Sunday September 3.

Stage III- Starting on Saturday September 2, we plan to return to the church for Saturday weddings, funerals, and all weekend masses, with a scheduled return to the church for weekday masses on Monday September 11.

Please note that while the church offices will remain closed on Mondays during the Renovation Project.  The church and hall will also close each Monday after the 9:00 a.m. mass

at 10:00 a.m.

Summer Saturday Masses

During the summer months, we will offer the Saturday 9:00 a.m. mass only on the first Saturday of each month: Saturday August 5 and Saturday September 2. These masses will be offered in the parish hall.

Mission Co-op Appeal – Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood

We welcome Sr. Frances, a member of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, to speak to us at each mass next weekend July 22/23 about their work, and to ask for our financial support.

They sent us this greeting:

“We are grateful for the opportunity to share with you our various ministries in many parts of our world. Sister Francis, especially, will share her personal journey with good humor and giving tribute to God’s abundant grace and help.”

Mission Co-op envelopes will be available at the doors of the St. Katari Centre before and after each mass.

Thank you of behalf of Naomi Misquitta!

Last weekend we heard the testimony of Naomi Misquitta, a young adult of our parish and lay missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach Canada (CCO), who spoke to us about her role as a Catholic campus missionary, tasked with bringing the Gospel to the students at Brock University St. Catharine’s in the coming year.

If you are interested in assisting Naomi as a financial partner in her ministry or wish to know more about CCO please e-mail her at naomi.misquitta@cco.ca.

UTM Catholic Chaplaincy Update

If you or someone you know is a university student, then this announcement is for you! The UTM (University of Toronto Mississauga) Catholic Chaplaincy exists to provide a supportive community for students to learn, grow, and celebrate their Catholic faith. While many schools continue to offer online learning for this Fall Term, the increased isolation creates a deep need for authentic community. Whether you are at UTM student or a student studying remotely at another university or college, we invite you join our community. Our chaplaincy is working hard this fall to plan safe in-person gatherings as well as virtual gatherings for those wishing to connect remotely.

For more information visit our website www.utmcatholics.com …and feel free to share our website with any university-age students that may be interested in joining or learning more about our chaplaincy.
